CLINTON, MS – Despite a week full of rain that soaked Choctaws Trails, Mississippi College hosted the Watson Ford Invitational on Saturday afternoon.  There were still some very good performances at the meet even though conditions were not optimal……..

……. “The course is just in no shape to run on anytime soon.  It was beat up pretty bad today, along with the parking lots, and will take at least a week of dry weather just to be able to start working on repairing it.  It is going to take a lot of work to get it ready for conference, but I think canceling some meets out there over the next couple of weeks will help in the process of getting is ready to compete on again.  Right now we won’t even be able to practice on it for at least a week of dry weather, and it is supposed to rain this week again.”

COURSE
DESCRIPTION: Choctaw Trails has rolling hills and is 95% grass, with a few wooded

Trails. There are numerous places for spectators to view the race. There will be

Mile markers and mile splits at every mile, as well as a large clock at the finish.

DIRECTIONS

Take I-20W to Exit 36. (Springridge Rd.)  Go south on Springridge Rd

approximately 1.5 miles to a trafic light. That is McRaven Rd. Take a

left on McRaven Rd. Go Approximately 1.5 miles and the course entrance

will be on the left.

 Directions:
Take Highway 78 East towards Birmingham
Exit Highway 43 North in Hamilton, AL to Russellville
Exit Highway 24 East in Russellville towards Decatur
Go approximately 30 miles on Highway 24 East to Moulton, AL
In Moulton, AL take Highway 157 South
Go approximately 6 miles.  When you see Speake Christian Fellowship, start looking for “XC Meet” signs on your left.
Turn left or East on Co. Rd 187.
Oakville Indian Mound Park and Museum will be on you left (approx 2 miles down)
When you turn in, you will be directed to a field on your right for parking (free parking).  You may pay the small parking fee and continue around the Indian mound to a closer parking lot.
